and Our Ultimate Holiday Movie is… #STREAMINTO2015

holiday movies

Well, the Holiday Season is in full swing and my family couldn’t be more excited. The lights are hung, tree is up and ready to be decorated (we do this Dec 1st) and we have already attended our local parade.

You may remember we were challenged by Staples Canada to watch as many holiday movies that we could over the last month on our new Roku 3 Streaming Media Player and then decide which is our Ultimate Holiday Movie.

We’ve watched tons from those YOU recommended in the comments on the previous post. Some holiday classics, some that are already favourites in our household and even some new ones we had yet to see.  It was a tough choice but the short list of candidates for our favourite included Home Alone, Elf, A Christmas Story, Christmas Vacation, Muppets Christmas Carol, How The Grinch Stole Christmas (both the original and the Jim Carrey version) and of course the classic clay-mation favourite Rudolf the Red Nose Reindeer.

But it was clear there was one movie that stood out. It’s one my husband and I have seen many times but we realized it was a first for our kids. They loved it so much they asked to watch it again as soon as it was over. Great for the entire family, this holiday classic originally came out in 1947 and then was remade in 1994.
